Re: Some Good Fish being caught in the first month of the new River Season

The problem is people presume venues are overgrown because they were when they visited 2 years ago or their mate told them or the old “I read it on Facebook” so it must be true.

Re: Some Good Fish being caught in the first month of the new River Season

I’m sorry but I disagree with comments about a lot of the banks or most the banks being overgrown. It simply isn’t true and I have seen it myself after visiting a lot of venues and seeing drone footage of others that have been cut out.Yes there are venues that need their second trim of the season and will be done in due course.Other venues that haven’t been done yet will also be done in the next few weeks. With the sunny and wet weather we have had the last few weeks everything shoots up in days.

Re: Some Good Fish being caught in the first month of the new River Season

On the subject of photographs of fish,Chris I totally agree and I’m glad someone else has brought up that ridiculous pose of looking lovingly at the back of the fishes head, what’s all that about?I’ve even seen people doing it holding a 6oz Roach up,looks absolutely ridiculous.

As for the banning of fishing til later in the year on BAA waters.Jesus I’ve heard some crap on here over the years but this is up there.Firstly with the close season on top of this “ban”,throw in the rivers being in flood at some point and then what does that leave to actually fish the rivers? As moorey said there are other species that people fish for its not all about Barbel. So Neil I take it you practice what you preach and haven’t fished on the river yet this season?Ha ha didn’t think so.
