hi stew, sounds like you had a descent session for opening day! guess the pike found its way out the canal!!!!! Good that you've shared your experience with everyone, living close to the stour, I know the problem with this weed.

I guess there are a few carp on most stretches of the staffsworc, by far the best stretch in my opinion is hinksford.....there are a lot! Remember having a tench there about 35years ago and the carp were there then too,always getting smashed up on Bayer 1.7 when fishing caster up the shelf.
Walk the stretch when it's hot you'll see them, getting them out is another problem good luck!
