Re: Brown Trout Lure fishing during Coarse Close Season?

I asked the question about worming for trout to the baa a few years ago now, absolutely not they said!

Re: Brown Trout Lure fishing during Coarse Close Season?

I would say if you're spinning in the closed season on rivers, you need a salmon license mate, that's the only legal way, when I started fishing in the 70s my dad used to take me on the teme and sometimes fished the worm on the lead if the river wasn't right for the fly.
But I think those rules have changed now!

Re: Brown Trout Lure fishing during Coarse Close Season?

hi,I would say that you would need a rod licence to cover you to fish for salmon & seatrout to be able to spin for them, nothing stopping you flyfishing?
Probably best to speak to baa hq or contact ea?

Re: Tench pools

Hi, pool 2 at retreat is supposed to be dedicated to tench and crucians but has never had good feedback for whatever reason, I had a look last year it was very weedy and the only ones fishing were half a dozen herons!
It would be nice if the baa could make this work, as it's a nice alternative from the carpsmiling
