Re: RE Bailiffing

mick also this baliff told me in general talk he has the right to confiscate tackle of which he certainly does not and is a lie , baliffs should be CRB checked .
and if there is an exception to the rules regarding dogs were there is a public right of way along the river , this should also be extended to non fishing partners as well , an should be clearly defined in the rules .
as I have already said most baliffs are genuine an fine.
but there are odd few that are not , if you fish around ripple you may see things in a different light mick .

Re: RE Bailiffing

point taken yes barbel anglers should attend the agm .
but as another point a conscienous angler who picks up his own an others litter , makes no noise , or problems . an wishes merely to fish an hour into dark with the hope off catching a specimen barbel , could hardly be classed as night fishing !!
night fishing is fishing all night with bed chair an tent .
surely the baa / baliffs could be a little relaxed about this .?

so can someone answer if a baliff turns up with a dog , whether the severn way runs along river bank or not his he breaking the rules ??????????????
if not this should be high lighted to all members , the fact that if the severn way public right of way runs along baa waters , members can take dogs an also wifes or girlfriends can sit there free of charge ????? whats good for one should be good for another .

would like to hear some opion on this rob gil the baliff often has his dog in attendance .

Re: Bailiffing

stew the 40 pound I was told they get is for night baliffing only , but there not going out at night only just into dark . im only saying what a baa baliff told me , at ripple .
I have a whitness what the baa baliff said about has right to confiscate tackle , just as a added point I think the baa baliffs should be CRB CHECKED for a criminal record . I have to be in my professional trade working with members of the public .

Re: Bailiffing

one last cast if they ask you to pack up at sunset say no , I have an hour after sunset to be off water . an if I set foot on the public right off way , the severn way which is public access im quite entitled to be on there at what time I want if I so wish .
the is no rule about being on a public right off way .
the way certain baliffs talk to some is way out of order , an im surprised there in a position there in with there attitude , its only a matter of time before they approach the wrong person .
I agree the majority off baa baliffs are ok , but to my knowledge there are 3 who are certainly not !!!
I have fished since the age of 7 an im now 54 , an have been in many clubs for a long period of time but in all those years never had any problems with baliffs before .

Re: Bailiffing

how can a baa baliff preach the rules to others , when as he speaks hes breaking the rules himself by having dog with him ?? if you see this baliff with black dog , highlight to him no dogs allowed an secondly report him . not that im against small dogs at all , but you cant have someone telling you the rules when breaking them there self .
john this recent hounding by baliffs has only been last few months , if you fish mainly ripple / birds meadow you will certainly encounter them , there most evenings . but also at severn stoke an fladbury . 2 off the baliffs are new faces .
