Re: Fishing at Bewdley

I like Northwood, there's some good fish there, the stamp of barbel is bigger than average compared to the rest of the Middle Severn, can be rock hard though, and often a waste of time in low water summer levels.

Re: Fishing at Bewdley

It is indeed Northwood Lane, the fishery car park is immediately left after going under the old railway bridge. It's about a 150yd walk from the car park to the river, gets very muddy and boggy across the field in winter, and it's on the left/east bank of the river.

Re: Otters at Apley Estate

They certainly get around Stew, I read somewhere that they can travel miles in a night, lots of commercial fisheries that aren't too far from running water are also having to put otter fencing up, Hawford, Cobhouse etc. An otter that finds a commie must think all his Christmasses have come at the same time on venues like those.

Mink have been on the loose for donkeys years now though, I think their numbers have 'levelled out' a little, let's hope the same happens with otters.

I do think life moves in circles though to be honest, back in the 80's and 90's, there was a huge demise in perch, and now they are back with a vengeance, I watched dozens of them the other night on the Severn chasing fry. Chub also seem to be on the increase now, currently it seems to be the turn of the barbel to suffer a decline.

Re: Otters at Apley Estate

I saw a whole family of mink back in February at Severn Stoke, probably six or seven of them on the opposite, they make a lot of noise. I remember seeing one years ago on the rocks there, it had just been down and caught an eel. Deadly killers those things are.
