Re: bidford bridge

Brill....... I have read on the Warwickshire Council web site [Just search Bidford bridge update] it will be closed again for a limited period for final work I believe from the 18th to the 20th between 10am and 3pm At least I can get to Marlcliffe and back now without a 10 mile detour.

Re: coppice

Weekdays at this time of year I would think you could almost pick your peg. Even in summer there's always a choice. Used to fish it quite often but haven't been for a couple of months or so, it got a little predictable, I like surprises so favour rivers or canal. For silvers it usually fishes quite well once you get things going. Had some decent perch as well. I don't bother much with the carp in there these days.

Re: Fladbury Barbel

Your expression says it all Johnny.....it's a cracker. Well done. Fished Fladbury last Friday, 2 or 3 pegs down from the mill stream outlet but only had one small barbel about 3 to 4lb, and lost another, presumed a barbel. Fished meat and halibut pellet but hardly a touch all day. Tried trotting a float with meat, only to have it grabbed by a fair sized pike when reeling in which then had the cheek to take another swipe and had my float as well. There's no justice.
