Re: Shrewsbury BAA fishery i:e Underdale

Am I the only BAA member who finds it amazing that a BAA bailiff has to resort to pleading on the forum for his stretch to receive some maintenace from BAA work parties? Out of curiosity I went to Underdale today and walked the downstream stretch, nice looking stretch of river I have to say but totally overgrown as far as a "senior member" like me who can no longer do an impersonation of a mountain goat to get down to the pegs. Looking at the "planned work" on this website it is clear that most resource early season or close season is put into the Warks Avon, but why? Many stretches of the Avon as far as I remember (used to fish it regularly 30 yrs ago when I was young and fit and I lived in Birmingham) have the main bank level are only 2-5 feet above normal river level, so don't really need much looking after. Most stretches of the Middle Severn are 10-15 feet above normal river level, so need work to make pegs accessible safely for everyone, not just old gits like me. Come on BAA admin, at least provide a response on the forum, after all you set it up we didn't! No point having this forum if the BAA mgmt ignore it is there?

BAA Car Parking Stickers?

Just found this entry from ONELASTCAST in the "Lurkers" thread which said
"note pinned by the bailiff threatening to remove my car for illegal parking, BAA HQ sent me a free sticker, so heads up on that one"
What car park stickers, first I've heard about any stickers, am I the only one who knows nothing about BAA Car Park stickers? I've tried searching the websiye for "sticker" and it returns nothing. Where is the info about stickers being available and how to get one as I can't find it anywhere? Usually leave my old Where To Fish book on dashboard if I think about it when parking in car parks where there is a charge for non-BAA members but that's just what I thought might save me an argument with a jobsworth car park attendant maybe?

Re: River temperatures online?

In the days before online river level we used to ring he river level line which as well as giving the latest level and whether it was rising or falling, also gave the same info bout the temperature of the water compared to the previous day. Only a week or so ago I used the feedback link at the bottom of all the river level pages on the flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk site to ask them to include the temperature information. Maybe if others who read tise do the same we might get this important info added to the website?
