Re: my day at bolehall, on the anker

the ankers full of jacks and they all seem to know about keepnets.

my day at bolehall, on the anker

had a pleasant day on the anker yesterday whipping out plenty of tiddlers maiinly perch ,roach, gudeon, chubletts ,bleak and even a single skimmer. river was in very good nick as you can see from picture.

fishing went quiet all of a sudden and after dropping an empty mussle shell that i hooked in the margin i found out why, a bloody great pike attacked it right under my feet, scared the life out of me!
after hooking the pike and being biten off four times as it attacked the roach/gudgeon i was catching i hooked it a 5th time and hooked the bugger in corner of his mouth and managed to land him and return him safely 3 pegs up stream. 20 minutes later the bugger was back sat at the end of my keep net.i gave up! anyway had a great day was nice to be back on the river and never saw another sole all day.
below the pike in the net. think i might have started a new craze , pike on the pole lol

my peg for the day about half way along the stretch.

my bag of tiddlers.

looking down stream of my peg

plenty of sport with loads of bite all day and a bit of exciement with mr pike enjoyed it. last time i fished there i had a 13lb 4oz barbel but thats another story. ill be back.

Re: Quieter Avon stretch

check out the wasperton stretch, loads of fish if you fish it proper (rove). check out my p.b last season in view images. Not had a whisker yet this season but plenty of bream, chub, dace , perch, roach, eels! good parking behind peg if conditions allow. Give it a go.

Re: Quieter Avon stretch

Walked Bidford RB midweek and not a single peg was occupied. Also did Manor Farm same day and only saw 1 angler, easy access with car behind pegs which are good and spacious.

Severn Stoke

Hi all,
New member and not familiar with any of the waters.
I fished Severn Stoke on Sunday morning hoping to find some barbel.
Sat there for 3 hours with not a bite so moved to the St Johns section of the Teme & did well.
My question is which are the best pegs on the section for barbel ?
I have also fished Bransford 3 times now with no sign of a fish. There are only about 4 pegs that are fishable on this stretch.
