Free fishing for young anglers

BAA member Mr Charles Hunter has a size-able pool stocked with rudd, common and mirror carp.

Having been an angler for 50 years he wants to offer use of the pool for young anglers starting their enjoyment of coarse fishing. The fish are easy to catch and this is hoped to help hook the youngsters on the sport.

The pool is in the Monkhopton area to the west of Bridgnorth.

Access to the pool will be limited to 2 anglers per visit and the junior anglers MUST be accompanied by an adult who will supervise them.

To arrange a visit please call Charles Hunter on 01746 712587.

Re: WA double double

Hi Johnny, have included your pictures in the Pictures of the Week, and added them to the images for Faldbury 'Where to Fish'. Thanks.

Re: Quatford access or lack of it!!!

Hi, The Danery was done on Wednesday 22nd June, this included strimming and digging out all pegs and strimming a path through the first small meadow you go through first from the car parking area (near the bus stop). We did not strim a path through the large field as one already exists, probably due to walkers and anglers.

I haven't got a date yet from Fisheries for Quatford, it's always a big one. As soon as I get one I will post it on the Fisheries Work Plan under the 'Booked waters & Fisheries Work Plan drop down on the home page.

Re: Ruts in fields!

Thanks for your comment.

We are also planning to put a stone track across the field below the bridge at Pershore as that also gets muddy in the wet weather. This will be when we have completed the early season strimming of all our river fisheries. An update will be posted as a website news item when it's done.
