Your fish pictures

In addition to the pictures of catches members send in, I have also been using the pictures posted under this forum for the Pictures of The Week display.

Chatting to John Williams today he suggested that these pictures could also be added to the 'Where to Fish Image Galleries'. Over time this will build up an image library of catches for each of our fisheries.

So when you either send us or post a fish picture on this forum, can you also let us know where the fish was caught, it doesn't have to be the exact peg but so we can identify which page in the Where to Fish section to put the image. For example I have some pictures of pike caught on the Birmingham-Worcester and Staffs-Worcester canals, but there are 3 pages in the Where to Fish guide for each of those canals.

Thanks

Re: where to fish at stacklands?

Hi,

The down stream section of the river in the first meadow that ends by the footbridge is the deepest, as you go further upstream the water gets shallower. The Fisheries Team have also cut back trees and vegetation mainly at the down stream end to improve existing pegs and create a few more. if you get there early there are also a couple of old concrete salmon fishing platforms build into out into the river.

The banks aren't to steep and it's an easy walk from the car park by the hut in the first field to the river.

I would suggest you keep an eye on the EA website and keep an eye on the Wye river level because the river can come up very quickly. The links below are for the EA measuring stations at Mordiford and Ross, either side of Stacklands.

Re: Two problems with forum under investigation

Hi,

As I said in my August post copied below, we have not been able to find a cause and fix the duplicate posting issue. I will check with our web developer to confirm if the nightly duplicate post deletion was implemented, even so you will still see duplicate posts until they are zapped.

Re the problem of repeat postings, our web developer has not been able to identify the cause.

As an improvement he is going to implement a routine the deletes all repeat posts every night.

Some forum members are deleting repeats of their own posts, keep doing this please.

Re: membership

The initial problem found this morning has been resolved and the on-line renewal/joining facility and associated newsflash restored.

Re: membership

On-line membership went live today 8th December, but we have found a problem with the Live system that did not occur when testing prior to deployment.

Our web developer is currently investigating and as a precaution we have temporarily removed the on-line facility plus the associated news item.

As soon as the problem is sorted we will restore the on-line renewal facility and the associated news item.
