Re: Mythe

Mythe Pool is open for fishing, however there is no vehicular access inside the pool gate. The ground is too soft to drive over. Members should park near to the gate and walk from there.

ELECTRO FISHING CANALS

Message received from CRT:

Hi John,

We are carrying out electro fishing for the removal of non-native fish species from the canal network at present.

Our fisheries contractor (MEM Fisheries) will be undertaking the works on our behalf. Works on the Worcester & Birmingham canal started at Diglis today Wednesday 3rd April and working North. We expect to be working through your club waters on Thursday and Friday (4th & 5Th) of this week.

We welcome and encourage representatives of the club to attend and witness these works while they are taking place. This helps greatly to quash any rumours and unfounded accusations.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

MORE FISH STOCKED AT MANOR FARM

Yesterday (wed. 22.11) the EA stocked 500 barbel, 250 chub, 1250 roach & 250 dace into the river Avon at Manor Farm. This is the second mitigation stocking in the river following the recent pollution incident.
All the fish came from the EA fish farm at Calverton.

RIPPLE ACCESS CLOSED

Some of our cleverer members have been trying to access the river at Ripple. Guess what happened?
Yep, bogged down in the mud. Don't they know that the river has been in the fields down there?
The land owner is not amused.
So, temporarily, and to prevent any more clever buggers doing the same thing, we have blocked off the access to Ripple and Mythe pool.
Happy days.

Re: ELECTRO FISHING CANALS

I can only speak for BAA canals and I can confirm that the BAA are neither consulted with nor even asked about this operation. We are simply told that it will happen. I believe that the removal is carried out on Worcester, Fazelely and Coventry canals, however there may be other canals treated which are not BAA controlled. This question should really be directed towards CRT.
