Upper Severn fishing report December 2020

Aberbechan / Penarth

First week of December river running approximately 1metre above normal winter level but clear and fishing very good for grayling to the 1.5lb mark, chub to 4lb and very nice sized pike being caught to 15lb. Not many anglers braveing the weather but nice to see a few anglers about before  the river started to rise on the 11th from 2metres at Aberbechan down to 4.5metres at Maginnis Bridge and to 6.1metres at Rhyddesgyn.

On 19th of December the First Minister Mark Drakeford announced a Welsh lockdown and all our Welsh fisheries had to close from midnight of the 19th untill further notice.

We would like to thank all the anglers new and old who have visited the Upper Severn in 2020 making it a very succesfull year for record attendances we hope to see you all in 2021 (Covid 19 allowing) keep safe and have a very Healthy and Happy New Year from all the team on the Upper Severn Powys.
