Mike and Ann Wood Fishing Report Upper Severn Powys

We are now in June awaiting our big day for the 16th to come around start of June first few days very warm still very low water then on the 5th just what the doctor ordered nice drop of steady rain to freshen things up and give us a rise in levels only .300mm but very much needed it does'nt last long though quickly running off after a couple of days still lots of game anglers about but slower than we would expect at this time of year with extreme low water conditions but still some very good wild Brown Trout to 2lb 10oz caught by a regular visitor to the Upper Severn Glen Irwin also catching quality grayling on his fly tactics.Grayling to the 1.5lb mark around Aberbechan ,Penarth, Abermule, with Forden still producing some of the more better quality catches with the Rhyddesgyn also producing some quality grayling .We are now approaching the magical 16th June the first few days there were lots of small mixed bags of silvers still struggling with water conditions from Aberbechan down to Rhyddesgyn but just what we needed rain ,rain and more rain on the 18th 19th bringing levels up 600mm and what an instant effect it had quality barbell to 10lb bonus bream to 6lb backed up with chub to 4lb see Birmingham anglers Facebook Page and website for up to date Pictures of our fantastic start to the new season and with plenty of dace and silvers on the trotting tactics ,Underdale has started very well with some cracking bream to 5lb , barbel and good mixed bags of fish in the deeper areas of the fishery . For all the salmon anglers there has been a lot of movement with the extra water we have had on with a few fish being caught and returned safely so long may it continue and finally a big well done to Ashley Clarson who is a regular on the Upper Severn and banking his quality Barbel well done Ashley you have put the time in for that beauty have a look every one on the website .
