Fishing Report for the Upper Severn Powys Aberbechan/Penarth/Abermule/Forden /Buttington Maginnis Bridge Poolquay/Maesydd/Rhyddesgyn/Underdale 31 March 2022 Mike and Ann Wood Fishing Report Upper Severn Powys What a start to March lovely sunshine and River running at .700mm Perfect conditions with Anglers coming back to the bank for the last two weeks of the season and they were not disappointed with good catches of Grayling chub and dace with the odd trout at Aberbechan Penarth Abermule and Forden see website for results some lovely fish being caught . Still a bit slow down at Maginnis bridge but good results at Poolquay and Rhyddesgyn with some lovely barbel to 9lb Bream to 6.5lb with lots of Grayling and chub excellent last two weeks of the season with Anglers visiting from Worcestershire well done Ade and Tom Jay along with Dave Stephenson and Bill Law travelling everyweek from the Midlands to fish the Upper Severn. Also well done to Paul Hurman for his catches of Barbel Chub and Bream . Moving on now to the Salmon and Trout season getting underway. With the lovely spring sunshine perfect river levels there has been excellent catches of brown Trout to 2lb Grayling to 1.5lb and Sea Trout to 4lb from Aberbechan /Penarth Abermule,and Forden on the fly good start to the game season tight lines everyone for April.
