Carp feeding at Stubbs Pool
Did a baillif run at Bidford R/Bank this morning and got talking to brothers Simon and Justin, fishing below the weir. They were telling me that they have been having some good sessions at Stubbs Pool recently, see above photos. All were taken were on floating baits, they said that the Carp In Stubbs are very hook shy and to fish this style at Stubbs you have to be very stealthy and stalk them. Justin wearing the green tee shirt is holding a Scale perfect 27lb Linear Mirror and a 28lb Common. Simon In the hoody and gray tee shirt is holding a cracking long 30lb and 21lb Common. Report by Colin Townsend.
Matt's recent captures
Teme chub from Bransford, 28lb common carp and a smaller one from Stubbs Pool. Regards Matt Peplow
I thought you might like to see some of my recent successes; - 16lb Common from Stubbs Pool (24th May) - 18lb fully scaled mirror and 10lb common from Mythe Pool (13th/14th June). Interestingly, the fully scaled mirror is one that I caught just a few swims away in 2012. Regards, Sam Chapman

At north end of pool looking south towards island. The piles of weed next to the pegs are what had just been dragged from the lake by the Fisheries Team.

Hi, Just thought I’d send a picture of a stunning 9lb common caught on Stubbs Pool at the first time of asking on a short 4hr session. Chris Church
Local member Flynn Harris called back to Stubbs Pool today 20th June and continued his run of specimen fish by landing this perfect looking 30lb Common beating his PB by 7lb. Again he was using his special floating bait. I have always said there are 30lb plus Carp in Stubbs Pool - Colin Townsend (Fisheries Team)
Stubbs Pool Common
Colin & Spud of the Fisheries team we’re cutting out the pegs on the Avon at Cleeve Prior and they called to Stubbs Pool and met local member Flynn Harris with a scale perfect 17lb Common taken on a “secret” floating bait. Flynn loves fishing Stubbbs pool because the carp fight like crazy.
What's being caught here - 13lb 4oz and 14lb 2oz common carp from yesterday evening (1st June 2017). Both caught off the top using dog biscuits as freebies and artificial pellet on the hair. Sam Chapman
