Hi Bin

If you noticed me staring into your eyes a few weeks back there's nothing to worry about. I'd noticed that your lenses were very 'blue'/reflective. I expect they were issued by secret service and you can see all beautiful women nude and fish to 20ft deep in dirty water!

Seriously though, I've had Polaroid's that were good for glare, but they reduced float visibility, so I was wondering if your lens coating is something you've found particularly good for glare whilst not reducing the visibility of a float, or maybe they're just to look cool in clubs?

Re: Bins Bins

now there's a question... firstly if it was the secret service would you expect me to tell you ??? after all the names in the answer..

2nd , if i could see all women naked would you be up too buying a pair ??

3rd ( the real reason) IM BLIND....really i am ....iv no vision at all in my left eye and iv lost 35% of vision in my right eye...So to be honest i wouldn't of noticed you staring at me unless you was over 15foot away. people who are by me are just a blur.... the glasses are normal but the blue tinge you saw which is only on the right eye ( pointless doing anything with the left , as it dont work ) might as well put a pickled egg in that frame.. the blue tinge is a strip of magnification that i put on myself just so i can catch my line and put my bait on...
If you want to gaze into my eyes further at least have the decency to offer to buy me lunch..as im not that type of guy ... but you will notice the left eye is a perfect mirror image of the right as its a silicone photo..
when im not fishing i wear black glasses..
so now you know.

GLAUCOMA who would want that

Oops - I had no idea and really put my foot in it there - sorry!

I'd seen adverts for 'drive safe' & blue digital anti reflection coatings etc. I wondered if you had discovered something similar that helped avoid glare without changing the colour of everything to different shades of brown or grey (if you know what I mean)!

Would I buy a pair? I probably would have when a was a teenager and hoped to be the next James Bond!

Re: Bins Bins

No apologies needed mate. it was a simple enough question to which i was openly glad to answer ..
Its no secret that im blind and im stuck with it.. i tried every pair of glasses on the market , like you say they all claim to reduce one thing or another. but iv found none of the brands give you a prescription strength option .. one place offers a over lens option with either polaroid,, amber vision,, grey tint.. night mode... but neither work.. not for me anyhow..
Maybe for people with better eyesight ..( I don't know) ..
as i said i buy the cheapest glasses i can see at distance with and adjust them to suit me ...and so far its been the best thing available.
when your eyes are as shit as mine anything that works is good enough..

Re: Bins Bins

After three lots of eye surgery, my vision still isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than it was, and I always wear glasses for fishing - so here are a few observations.
Polarised lenses are great for fly fishing, lure angling or any other method that requires that you see into the water, but (as stated above) they are terrible for float fishing.
Don't fly fish without glasses - even if they are just cheap driving glasses. I've seen a hook in an eyeball, and it ain't nice.
Avoid green mirrored lenses. Trees are green, and if the lenses on your glasses reflect away the only light getting through the tree cover, you can't see where you're walking.
Glass lenses are great, but in the UK climate, they fog up very easily - stick with plastic.
If you need prescription glasses for tying hooks etc, go get some cheap ones. Mine are from Ali-Express - they are full sized glasses and I usually have a couple of pairs in my gear.
