I’m sure everyone would agree that apperley would benefit from stocking crucian carp in both lakes and sone more tench especially in the neglected lake

We stocked Apperley Pools with tench a few years ago but after the first flood they all ended up in the river. The same would happen to any carp put in there.

That’s simply not true. I have myself caught numerous tench from both lakes. If that was the situation there would be no fish in the lakes of any species. Both tench and crucians are bottom dwellers

I would be interested to know if any tench have showed this year from Apperley.

John
Please can you explain to me and the other members reading this blog
On what basis do you know that after the first flood all the stocked tench ended up in the river
Why the BAA would stock a lake with fish that will end up in the river shortly after stocking
Why a member cannot make a suggestion on stocking of a particular lake without a proper consultation with the other committee members and why did you simply dismiss the idea
Surely this is a members club and members should at least be listened to
Finally I have had multiple discussions at the lake side with many members and they all thought my suggestion was worthwhile
Thankyou Simon

Re: Why not stock apperley lakes this winter with crucians to apperley this winter - Point to raise at the next AGM

Hi bukans50/Simon,
I have been following this conversation.

I would suggest that if you can, try and attend the next AGM on Thursday November 9th at 7.30pm
So that you can raise this valid point that you have at the meeting.

Keep on Fishing….

I can confirm I’ve had two tench around 4 lb from the “neglected” lake this summer. It was my first time trying for tench so I was pleasantly surprised!
