Hi Fellow D'Anglers
I popped down to Nordley Pool 4 a week or so ago to practice my tactics in readiness for our Competition on 29th July.
You'll be pleased to know you haven't got much competition, I had a few small Perch and 1 small Tench. I'll be popping down again soon to get some more practice. I didn't get my keepnet wet & threw them straight back. I'll be keeping them on the 29th though, I don't want another weigh of shame result of "DNW".
I have a polite request to our BAA Management Team - would it be possible to have the the track from the road to the car park strimmed before the 29th? There's a lot of new growth that's overhanging the track and requires cars to be driven really slow to avoid scratches to paintwork.. With so many of us turning up at about the same time it could take a while before we all get to the carpark.

Keep us posted how you get on with any further visits Alan. I've never fished Nordley and don't think I'll manage to get any practice in as it's a nearly 2 hr trip for me. Though I'll definitely be there on the day of the match!

Only just caught up with this thread.
Hi Meatman.
Stick to what you know best mate. You've told us before that Tench and Bream liked your meat offerings at Mythe, well all of the Nordley Pools have a good number of medium sized carp in them too that also like meat/sweetcorn etc. I've known folk fish boilies in the middle all night long on Pool 4 and blank, then I've turned up late morning and fished with sweetcorn in the side and had an 8lb carp first cast. Might be your day to win the match mate. It won't be an easy match though. It'll be a day of having to be patient and believing in your method, but you've got to read the water and test the depth out to hunt out the margin features, if you know what I mean.

Stew, we need you to start 2hrs later than everyone else to give us chance! And you're dead right, I'll stick it out with my tried a trusted methods that have served me well. Looking forward to the day, let's hope we get a few more sign up for it. Completely new venue for me - all to play for!!
