Re: Warwickshire Avon fish kill Barford area - RS HYDRO - Water Quality Testing Equipment

Hello Fellow D’anglers,
Today is the 16th of June the opening day of the River Fishing Season!

IF it had not been for the Original post that Bazpeck put up on Fishing Chat Forum on 14th June and which has been viewed almost a THOUSAND TIMES, and generated so far 30 replies with this one, in just 2 days!

We would not have known of the CARNAGE that has been Visited upon OUR upper stretch of the River Avon!

Previously I had posted replies to the concerns raised by Frank Bagley concerning the water quality at Fladbury on the River Avon.
The BAA Bailiffs and others have been involved in taking Water Samples.

I brought to the attention of the BAA,
RS HYDRO
Harris Business Park, Canalside, Stoke Prior, B60 4DJ
Phone: 01527 882060

I have read on their website of their products and capabilities, products that can
“Be bought or Rented”

It would appear to me that they have a Water Quality Tester that could prove Precisely what is in the water, that could be the reason behind the Fish Kills and the decline in the quality of the water that has affected our fishing on any of the BAA Waters!

In my opinion the BAA should consider the PURCHASE or RENTAL of the necessary kit from RS HYDRO that can then provide the BAA with the Hard Evidence to take to the Authorities for them to take action against the wrongdoers.

What are your thoughts fellow d’anglers?

Keep on Fishing….

Hi Re5erv0irReg

Thanks for the above post.

I will try to explain were we are with some of the information that you have posted.

The BAA and 188 other clubs are involved with the AT in a pilot testing the waters.(This was originally a seven pilot but now is running over other catchments. Now covers 127 rivers across 50 catchments, with 1,867 samples recorded.)

We have had to pay for the test kits which our Bailiff teams test on there visits to our waters. All the information and date is being collected by the AT. I would suggest that if you want to be involved you contact the AT direct.

We as a club are doing what we can when we can.

You can image the amount of calls, texted and social media has been extremely busy this week with the fish kills.

I will now answer your email but as i do this you can see its taking time to compose the information and its time i could be somewhere on the bank making improvements.

Also we have posted on our web page for volunteers to help why don't you apply if you want to make a difference.

thank Craig

Re: Water Quality in OUR Waters? - Fish Deaths - The decline of the Rivers due to???

Hello Fellow D’anglers,
May I just clarify that I do not suggest for a minute that the activity of the Fisheries Team is being questioned by me.

What the Fisheries Team and Bailiffs have done in these testing times since COVID has been phenomenal and for that I personally thank them for their hard work, due diligence, and the reaction time to attending to an Urgent Matter; eg the Fallen Tree in the car park at Eardiston on the Teme!

However what I was drawing attention to a piece of Technology that might just help
US and OUR Association identify precisely the Actual State of the Water in our Rivers!
From what I have read
It may correctly Identify just what the Unpleasant Contaminants are?
Agricultural - Biological - Chemical

Currently we, Joe Public, are being told by the self policing and self interested parties what they want to tell us!

IF this Testing Kit is able to “Prove something Different”, then should we not be exploiting it?

To ensure that OUR Waters, and our passion for Angling are Properly Protected for us, and our future generations?

Keep on Fishing….
