Hello Fellow d’anglers,
Well we gave it our best shot on a River that is still running low, it gave an indication of Bream being about with tell tale signs of feeding but unfortunately they failed to show.
What were about up and down the stretch were Pike causing mayhem in many pegs, although our “contest winner bin” did catch one that we weighed separately and then released, at 4lb 8oz 8 d, it constituted the bulk of his match winning 6lb 4oz 4d (see attached photo)
Dave Holland had a lovely Roach, his only fish, it weighed 1lb 1oz and came to hair rigged pink wafters!! (See attached photo)
Fish came to all but two d’anglers, caught on a variety of Pole, Float and Feeder fished baits

1 - bin - 6lb 4oz 4dr
2 - Robhol - 5lb 14oz
3 - Raver - 2lb 0oz 8dr
4 - charliebigchub - 1lb 15oz
5 - Bob Powell - 1lb 14oz 8dr
6 - MickGrove - 1lb 7oz
7 - Dave Holland - 1lb 1oz
8 - mrfishy - 14oz
9 - stew1955 - 11oz 12dr
10 - mrfishysenior - 6oz 12dr
11 - Reg - 1oz 4dr
12 equal DNW - Dave Macdonald and Norm

Total Contest Weight 22lb 10oz

My thanks to bin for providing the tools for the job, and pegging out with stew1955 and the Weighers mrfishy and Raver and to everyone that enjoyed the day.

Our Next Contest is on 07th October on the Staffs / Worcs Canal Br. 39 - 40

In the meantime

Keep on Fishing…

Thanks to those who arrived early to peg out, and to Reg for posting the results quickly.
Well done to those in the frame.
Nice to see everyone, an interesting venue we had not visited in the past.

Nice one Reg for putting the results up.. i know the fishing wasn't great but the overall day was .. nice to see all the chaps again ... even with the lack of fish the overall vibe at the end of the match led me to believe everybody enjoyed it.
Well done Reg on the organizing (everything ran smoothly and according to plan )
Well done to the weighing in team .. ( again a perfect job done there )
And well done to everyone else for turning up and making the event happen...

As iv ended up with the pegs again ill gladly offer my services to peg out the next match on the canal.... if anyone else wants to do it instead ill turn up early and give you the pegs ..
thanks again everyone.. see you all soon

Hello Fellow d’anglers,
Here is an interesting footnote to our Ladyham Contest.

The start whistle that I blew was an ACME THUNDERER, circa 1948 produced for British Rail Midland Region.
Would you believe I then mislaid it, now found!

Thankfully bin came to my rescue as he had brought along a whistle, not any old whistle though.
The contest finish whistle is an ACME CITY, circa 1937 produced for the ARP.

These great and historic whistles made in Birmingham by J Hudson.
