Re: RE Bailiffing

stew your last comment was typical off a baa baliff .
iv been in numerous clubs over the years , an in all my years have never once had any issues with baliffs before , iv always found them polite , helpful an amicable and consider themselves on the same level as the members not better , or looked down upon .
no one is crying wolf at all . it must be remembered that as a baa baliff you have little more right that any other citizen , so if you or any other baliff was in a pub would not speak to some one in there with lack of respect . but I have witnessed baliffs who think they have the right to on the bank , just because they are a baa baliff ??? no no no

Re: RE Bailiffing

right lets be clear about night fishing i.e fishing all night an bivyed up so to speak . if the baa don't wont to allow that fine , but if the baa are not against night fishing what is the problem fishing an hour or two into dark without stopping all night , which is hardly night fishing what is the problem ?????????? and at no additional cost .
iv been told if a club books a contest with 12 or more there is no cost to the club at all ??
is there a divide within the baa between match anglers an specimen anglers who like fish few hours into dark ??????????
it has been quoted on here the baliffs do a difficult job , but iv never seen as yet one carry a litter bag / litter picker , in fact iv seen them walk past rubbish , despite no tackle to carry ,so are they really that consciensios ????? about the waters some baliff .
I myself would say as well as an angler im a conservationist , an keen interest in wildlife an birds .
I have for many years carried handful of charity bags with my fishing tackle and off my own bat , have cleared mountains off rubbish over many years from various waters .
lets see baa baliffs issued with litter pickers an bags , then we see how many baliffs drop out .
if there really for the baa , an not just thrive on personal sense of authority towards others .
im sure if I can move rubbish as well as carry my tackle , im sure baa baliffs can if there that good an keen for the well being of the waters they baliff , or is this against there principles ? ,

Re: RE Bailiffing

STEW its quite obvious the baa are against night fishing , as iv previously stated the baa are the only club I no out of all river clubs up an down country that you may a membership , then are told if you want night fish its a 10 pound night ,even for fishing 2 hours into dark !!!!!!!!
I repeat whether the baa allow night fishing or not , its costs them an the members not a penny more on the lease money , so why do the baa expect it s members to pay an additional cost .
yes if the baa were in favour of night fishing they would not do this . , an further more its obvious the baa are taking advantage of the no night fishing by charging this over the top amount , work it out for the angler that wishes to fish once or twice week , for a few hours into dark .
an lastly it has to be pre booked , what about if the weather conditions are wrong for the pre booked night ticket . I urge the baa to come into line with other well known river angling clubs as iv already said an bring in a sensible pricing of a yearly ticket that accommodates all , the average price ranges from 35 to 85 a year . then we can say yes the baa are in favour of night fishing .
or better still just relax the sunset rule , to say 2 hours into dark .
the baliff concerned said what he said to me , an was not exaggerated or such .an whats the point in complaint when its my word against his although some one present with me heard what he said .
an finally it was a baa baliff that told me about the 40 pound a night for night baliffing .
it seems to me some baa baliffs exaggerate then cry wolf , no I did not say that .

Re: RE Bailiffing

NO night fishing because of landowners total non sense .
the baa for many years had the lease for Walcott lakes since the 1960s , an guess what ? no night fishing .
is it a matter of coincidence then the baa transferred there exsisting lease to a carp syndicate last few years , an hey presto guess what they have night fishing instantly !!
so if it was against the landowners wishes towards night fishing they would not have allowed carp syndicate night fishing , under the baa s exsisting lease , this is how I was told it .
furthermore I think the baa is one of the few clubs in the country , that you pay a full membership , then are asked to pay £10 extra a night to nightfish . when the baa clearly do not pay any extra to landowners whether they night fish or not .
im sceptical that some baa waters can not be night fished any way , as lot them there is not a house in sight for miles , severn stoke as an example has public carpark with access to the severn way .
is it the baa that choose which waters can be night fished an not the landowner ?
and lastly if someone wants to fish only into dark ,for few hours only has pay 10 pound for extra 2 hours !!!
an works out extravagant if an angler night fishes twice week , that's a few thousand a year .
all the other major river angling clubs on trent ,dove and severn , charge between as little as £35 up to £85 year which includes full night fishing .
I urge the baa to consider all its members match an specimen an bring in a sensible priceing structure .,to accommodate all anglers .
lastly if night fishing was allowed , then each member is a baliff anyway an it would police its self an deter unwanted fish killers an stealers if members were night fishing .
