Hi Keith - Mick Grove, I fished the Wolverley match. Cannot do the date for the Nordley one, but count me in for the ones scheduled for Autumn. Regards to the lads I met last time.

Re: baa d'anglers a.c nordley match.

Hi Keith and lads

Fished Nordley 4 yesterday.

There are 19 pegs (platforms) to fish from, most have trees either side, some have overhanging branch issues. Water is muddy (carp activity, plenty of 5 to 8 pounders about) and is only canal depth. There is a lorra-lorra weed lying under the surface that you can't see. Only took a rod and a tin of sweetcorn with me. 7lb main line and 5lb bottom proved useful as 7 out of 10 casts resulted in me being snagged in weed. Had a few line bites and quick snatches at the bait but only managed to hook three of the small tench put in there last year, which are now two or three ouncers.

Anyone not driven there before, assuming that you'll approach via Bridgnorth, a couple of miles up the Broseley road there are two S Bends before the turning to the pools. Both start with a sharp RIGHT hand bend highlighted by a Chevron. After the first S Bend you'll see a large farm shed sat on top of a bank which is where the next S bend starts. Immediately after that sharp right hand bend you are seconds away from the turning off left to the pools. You'll see a STONE WALL on left hand side of the road. There is an opening in it which is obscured until you are nearly on top of it. Look out for the name plate on the corner of the opening for HOLLY BERRY COTTAGES, that's where you turn in. A lot of folk miss that turning.

After you've driven a few yards passed the cottages the track becomes tarmac and heads down a bank along the side of a field. At the bottom of the field you drive over a cattle grid. The track then becomes gravel with grass growing up the centre of it. Look out for a gap in the grass and that's where the right turn to the pools is. After you've gone through the BAA (padlocked) gate you are only a few hundred yards way from the car park adjacent to pool 4.

Hope these landmarks help.

It'll be a difficult and frustrating match, most tight lines will be those stuck in trees or pond weedsmiling
