Well after yesterdays day out and the otter story i blanked ( you can see that on the match fishing page) not being too down trodden i was out again today only this time i went to a stretch iv had good results from in the past..Eagle and Sun br35..never lets you down...not what i expected though .. no skimmers no roach luckily the perch were willing to play ... i didnt have loads 15 in total for about 3 lb max..... at 10 oclock a load of cars turned up and a ladies paddle board team got out ..now heres a thing i didnt know they have to be inflated (im on about the boards not the ladies in my life) so that was a bit noisy with all the plug in compressors going.13 of them .. but it didnt affect me at all ,, in fact they were very nice and said they will walk down a bit as to not disturb my fishing ... it wasnt the nicest day although it didn't rain it was a bit foggy and the fog was very wet.. i was soaked through by midday.. when i left i went to bridge42,,, 2 blokes fishing had only perch... after that i want to bridge 43 ..4 blokes there had only perch also.
so iv no idea why that was just one of those days i suppose

ANYWAY keep smiling ..

Re: Eagle & Sun

Bin, I bet none of those ladies with paddleboards had a permit to use the paddleboards on any CRT water. According to the CRT rules / regs / laws, any craft be it a kayak, canoe, paddleboard or a boat of any description requires a permit / licence. Have a look on their website.

Re: Eagle & Sun

Yes Ollie,
You are correct,
there was a Forum post earlier this year about ANY Craft Launching onto the Canals and Rivers in England and Wales having to be in possession of a Licence!

This includes Paddleboards. Canoes and Kayaks

At least those Ladies did not interfere with bin, or his fishing.

Re: Eagle & Sun

your right Reg they didnt bother me .in fact quite the opposite.. they were a great bunch ,,went well out my way and apologized as they passed ..
what your saying Ollie is correct about the license's iv read all about it in the passed anyone using the water be it a craft of any type (powered or manual ) requires a license... i don't know if they had one or not ,i didn't ask ... not wanting to be the talking point in the pub after ..( What's that grumpy old fisherman moaning about this morning ) after they had been so courteous and polite to me i just left them to it...
now here's a thing .. the young bloke who works with my mate is into Kayaking but he mainly goes in the sea or fast rivers (white water) he said hes been on the Avon and the Teme on the odd occasion,, i ask if he had a license and he said ...
" I have now " he told me hes had one for the last 5 years but for the previous 5 years he wasn't aware he needed one.. it wasn't until someone questioned it that he looked into it a thought oops i better get one...
now if you in some kind of club i would of thought it would be in the club rules .. but if your not , how would you know you require one?
How many of these people on our waters have never been asked to produce one.. Whos bailiffing them..???
like i said these ladies were no problem on the day.. but trust me iv had some nightmares with them in the past.. i had to pack up my stuff at Eckington because of boarders and people swimming in my peg...

Re: Eagle & Sun

Marlcliffe for Wild Swimming is a Nightmare,
as they just do not give a damn.
They just add to the effluent that is already in the River.

It was on that particular day somewhere that I just could not
