Dead as a dodo. Did 9 hours downstream of the bridge for just one small perch and two small eels on worms, maggots produced nothing, not even a bite. When I left I'm pretty sure the chap next peg had blanked as well using different baits. Never had any more bites apart from the three I caught.
A match there tomorrow I think, best of luck chaps, river looked good but a bit low and went down more as the day progressed. Pegs all nice and tidy.
Hope this won't depress you too much.

I fished the same field from 5am for 3 nice roach/Bream hybrids and a tiny chub.
Don't get how people were already fishing when I arrived at 5?

if it helps, the Middle Severn hasn't been much better, and that's in far better condition than the Avon at present. Just two chub for me.

First few days of the season are always crap - I've been at it for 55 years and I can only remember one or two good opening days in all that time. Come first week of July and you will start to see something you recognise...stick with it!

Breakspear managed two I think 1LC, probably from BC. There was an 11.3 from the tidal, and I know an 11 came out up at Atcham way, apart from that, it's been bloody hard going.
30c temps over today and tomorrow won't do any of us any favours.

lower moor for my start, plenty of skimmers and 4 bream .
fished salford in eve and not a tap ! river so low and only one other car there. expected it to be full. carlcam you can by on river 1hr before sunrise so that 3.45am at mo
wish started on the wye thou, fishing it bits off at mo.

Great thread this guys so interesting to hear how we are all doing good or bad keep the posts coming either way.
Ill be out in the week was thinking of heading to fladbury still might.What peg down stream did you fish bud?
