Hi all,with the barbel fishing being a bit slow I got the float rods out on theWA yesterday and actually had a great session for a change but what I couldn't get my head around was the amount of hybrids I was catching,also the quality of them I had about 25-30 all around the 1/2 to a1lb mark with a few chub thrown in and also not a bite on maggots all caught on pellet, how fishing is changing.

What stretch were you on Rob? Always nice to catch proper hybrids they go some as well!

Hi I was at fladbury below the bridge section,never caught any on a river before you are right they do fight well but I was amazed that I had plenty of fish in front of me but they would not touch maggots

I went to Fladbury yesterday and did the same. Couldn't catch hybrids trotting, only with stationary bait. How did u fish?
Did manage a 4lb Barbel and 3lb Chub.

Hi Carl ,well done with the barbel but all the fish i caught was on the float rod ,I've been trying a17ft bolo with a 4 gram float it was great fun
