Well we were hopeful with the weather being overcast for a few bream ...well we were wrong it fished really hard for everyone bar one... with the river being 4foot below the platforms it really shouldn't make a difference there as everyone still had 25foot of water to play with ... it was obvious after the first hour that the silver fish didn't want to play and everyone was on the feeder..
here is the poor results .

ill start of with the only man good enough to catch anything & the only thing worth reading..

1st..Dave Lloyd.....18-13-0 .....2 bream both over 6lb + 19 skimmers. (well done that man )
2nd.. chris wedgbrow ..BIN..2-9-0
3rd...paul mason..1-5-0
4th ...paul wedgbrow..1-0-0
l5th leo lloyd....0-14-0
6th...stuart whiall..0-13-0
7th..charlie abbey...0-11-0
8th..andy wedgbrow...0-7-0
9th...glyn price hunt...0-1-0
10th...john dalloway ...DNW
11th John mathews ... DNW..( typical bonus peg )

i havent put the methods down as they were all the same .. groundbait feeder with worm and red maggots'

the only thing ill add is DAVE LLOYd threw his feeder over the halfway mark ... so maybe something to be leant there ...

Hello bin,
It is much appreciated that you have taken the time to report the results and the successful methods from your Club Contest.

The River at Birds Meadow is about the same width as at Ladyham, which is about 150 feet, as measured approximately using Google maps.

With rain forecast this week the river may be a totally different kettle of fish come our contest next Saturday at Ladyham.

Keep on Fishing…

Thanks for your report and results. All results and information more than useful, good or bad, gives future competitors on these BAA venues ideas on how to approach their matches on the same or similar venues.

Yes Reg .your right .about the size of the river .. but i must add that a massive difference is the depth ,, in our favor.. 25 foot plus at Birds meadow (lower seven). ladyham ( middle severn) average 8 foot or less at this time of year , making it a much more forgiving venue for float fishing tactics ... im not saying its the approach to take .. im just reminding all the Danglers its another method that you all have in your Armory..
im really looking forward to our match at Ladyham this weekend.. itll be nice to meet up again ..

Good Morning bin,
Your last comments on the variation in the depths between Birds Meadow and Ladyham are very true, which makes “Wild Water Fishing” much more challenging!

Indeed the Ladyham stretch could be won from any method, Pole, Trotted Float or the Feeder!

It all goes towards why we love d’anglng, plus in our case thanks to “Keith aka Carlingford” a chance for a like minded bunch of blokes to meet up as a Club for a bit of a social.

Meatman / John, if you are reading this, we wish you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing you on a contest with us soon.

Looking forward to seeing all you b.a.a. forum d’anglers AC on Saturday.

yippee Hello stranger .. Keith i also wish you could be with us on Saturday. its a shame you have commitments beyond your control .. after radio silence for a month i thought you had broke your typing finger ( nice to hear from you ).. but rest assured Reg is keeping everyone up to date with what's happening .. im helping by supplying a bit of kit.. stew is doing the score boards. and plenty of volunteers to help on the days out . so i think we have it covered... hopefully we can continue this until your return..in the meantime if you can wangle it or swap a shift . you are always more than welcome to join us.. after all this is your club .. we are just holding the fort...
Keep in touch mate ..
