Re: Barbel - servern/avon

I had this problem a couple of seasons ago and got pointed in the direction of Arley Harbour water worth the distance to travel from Glos. blanked 1st trip but soon worked it out & its been good every time I have visited there after. Id not worry with the lower or the Avon until you have some confidence in catching., But we warned its addictive!

Re: Whats your favourite?

Ireland, Ballinamore area. If it has to be Baa gotta be the Mythe Pool or the Severn part.

Cant forget get the Gloucester Canal as well!

Re: River Trent at Handsacre

Fished it this time last year started a thread and left a report check it out (use the search tool bar)
Anyhow it was terrible not worth the time or effort looked void of fish said id not return crying

(I blanked I am afraid to say very tough going, was very cold the night before and a few pegs the margins had iced over so not ideal ! I did not fancy sitting under the cables so fished down at the bottom end where the water comes in either side, this was my 1st mistake as they opened up fairly often letting in even more cold water. Its also filthy down there this maybe because of recent flooding but bottles and general shit everywhere it was not a nice place to spend the day to be honest. I fished for anything that swam but no sign of fish. Fished bread on the pole at 5m, Worm and caster @ 11m also chucked a maggot feeder and sat out the last few hours but nothing. Not sure ill rush back)
