Re: The future of the BAAJohn, as a specimen angler myself, I’m intrigued as to what the hopes are of catering more for spec anglers unless it’s just more night ticket availability which you have raised above? Personally I think for speci anglers the ticket represents possibly the greatest value for money fishing ticket available in the country. River anglers anyway. There is so much untouched and untapped bank when you go down the lists.

Re: Martin Bowler on FacebookHopefully so, just worry with them getting out of control and destroying the fishing everywhere they go, as is already the case many places

Martin Bowler on FacebookI have been fishing a good swim on the Warks Avon in good conditions with tactics I'm very confident in. The rod tip refused to budge and I started to suspect something was wrong because I should of been catching barbel. Then I saw the reason why as a big dog otter worked the river in front of me,hunting. My last 3 visits on different stretches has seen this happen twice and on the occasion I didn't meet Tarka I caught 7 barbel which I think tells its own story. Unfortunately this is the beginning of the end for the Warks Avon as my experience isn't an isolated one and has been repeated by other angler. I fear just like the Bristol Avon it will become a pathetic shadow of what it once was. Time to point the truck in a different direction and try to dodge the bullet because there is nothing that can be done to stop the aquatic destruction to come that I have witnessed time and time again
