Re: Stubbs Pool

Cheers gb

Did fish the river there towards end of the season resulting in one Chub of about 3lb.

You are right about the track. Not the best, but I suppose it deters any unwanted visitors.
Could see what looked like the remains of an abandoned vehicle quite close to the bank.

The pool was very high when I visited, possibly 2-3ft above the platforms, but looked like a nice place to wet a line in better conditions. Just thought it might be somewhere to try during the close season. My son and I fished Coppice a couple of weeks ago. I had three Bream. My son had a PB Common Carp of 20lb7oz plus another good carp and some Bream. We've also fished Retreat Farm with some success. Never fished a canal, but tempted to give it a go one day.

Anyway, thanks for your input. As you say, roll on June smiling

Stubbs Pool

Hi all

New to the association this year so just looking for any tips or advice on places to fish.

Was thinking of giving Stubbs a go one day. Heard on the grapevine though that there aren't many fish left in there due to otters/poaching problems. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Realise water levels will be a problem in the short term, but just looking to get a bit of still water fishing in before the river season starts again.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Avon bream

Ok mate, thanks. Not far from where I was then. Not sure I got my tactics right although the river was well up and very coloured, and it was well frosty first thing too smiling
I'll go back and have another go soon!

Re: Avon bream

Tracker, do you mind if I ask where you fished? I tried just downstream of the riverside car park last Friday (19/01/18) with no joy at all. New to the Association so just trying to pick up a few tips on some of the better places to fish.
