Re: Where to catch zanderBirds or ripple, small frozen roach, 1/3 way across. Fishing as early as possible will help. Use your full allocation of an hour before sunset. Also Bredon or mythe farm. Same as severn but I generally fish the muddle of the river.

Re: Predator fishingLoads at ripple/birds. Big girls too. Also the lower reaches of the Avon around wood end/mythe farm have plenty, although I find dead baits work far better than lures round there. Pensham on the other hand I've had some excellent days with the spinning gear. Need to go back really, haven't been for a few years. Can't say about the pools though.

Re: Gravel Quarry near Manor FarmRe the site I think it's the server being overloaded. A refresh usually does the trick. Things like traffic being affected I doubt would be of interest to the council without showing what the cost of that would be financially, environmentally etc. This may already be the way it's being tackled, and again I'm no expert, but I think there will need to be a lot of evidence, stats etc to validate the arguments. In public licence appeals, which I have more background in, you can't just say 'we don't want a pub built because it will be full of pissed angry people' you have to demonstrate the likelihood of that causing social issues, safety issues and the cost of repairs etc required caused by damage directly linked to the building. Its difficult to get these things listened to. Half arsed 'I spent 5 minutes filling a form in' types of approaches won't make a difference. I'm not saying that is what anyone has done, but 500 of those isn't worth 1 good one.

Re: Rod Rings replacements or Making your own Rods - a local supplierYou can't beat the nostalgia of old tackle. Whilst I use the modern stuff most the time, every now and then I get a few old rods and reels out just to have a go. One of my favourites is my dad's old silstar match rod. Whilst the new stuff is undoubtedly lighter and arguably performs better, for me tye older traditional tackle looks a million times better.
