Re: Cheese paste for the Severn

With Johnny on this one, It doesn't come out of my bag till October, but can be very effective when the time is right. My mix is 1 large loaf Liquidized bread, 200g nice strong blue cheese, 1 Egg, 1TBS Garlic Salt or just salt & garlic powder. Mix until paste is firm, then whack it in the freezer, it will keep forever.
Also, make sure you take a cloth with you, your hands will stink....

Enjoy,wink

Re: River temperatures online?

River levels are available twice daily 5-6 am and 6-7 pm on the Environment Agency website.
As for temperatures, you would have to ring the monitoring station that is nearest to where you intend going.
Hope this helps.

Re: Nonsense weights of barbel on this forum

Totally agree Jonny, First thing i did was laugh... If you compare it to your 10 pic you posted, it's a big 10 at a push.
I don't understand why people can't weigh fish and post realistic weights, it's not even a bad guess, because that would have been a round 15lb, not 15.2.
Experienced Barbel anglers can guess a Barbel's weight within 8oz, so why say it's something it's not, only to be ridiculed on the forum.

Never mind, all the fair weather anglers will soon be sitting in front of a warm fire, so the rivers will be a lot less busy for us,

Tight lines,
Dave
