Combination lock at Brook Section (Eardington)

Fished Eardington Brook Section today, first time this season. Noted the new gate and lock, but found the lock open but with the chain draped around the post to make it look as if it was locked. The reason for this soon became obvious, when I tried to lock the gate behind me as we all are supposed to, I found that it was impossible to rotate the digits to the correct combination to allow the lock to be clamped shut. Not sure whether this was because the lock is new and uncooperative or perhaps someone has tampered with it or put something in it. I spoke to another angler I encountered on the river bank and he had the same experience, so the lock is faulty.

Re: Camping on the Severn - Help

From memory there is a riverside one at Hampton Loade on the west bank. Also one just upstream of the flyover bridge in Bewdley, and there is also Hopleys Farm just off the top of the Bewdley by-pass on the old road back into town.

Re: Arley right hand bank - parking

OK thanks, that's a relief, just what I needed to know.

Arley right hand bank - parking

I noticed a post a few weeks back complaining that the right hand bank car-park in the field just down from Harbour Inn was closed due to a pile of rubble in the entrance. It was suggested that this had been part of an attempt by the villagers to effectively close the village to outsiders during the COVID-19 lockdown.

However as of Tuesday night (7th July), the car-park was still obstructed by the mound of rubble. Does anyone know if negotiations to open the car-park are in progress or shall I take a pick and shovel next time I visit?

Re: Trimpley

This work is more likely to be Severn-Trent who own the reservoir and water treatment works and the outfall into the river from the works. Probably they are worried that the winter floods have eroded the banks and might destabilise their structures. Not sure where this has happened recently on KDAA, there is some rock revetment on the right bank just below Dowles Brook but this again was installed to protect the footpath and field against further erosion after the 2007 floods (not sure who did it)
