Re: Twisted Hooklength on Rivers

Hi ,what line are you using ? because some modern lines just don't like being used on running water. I get no problem with Drennan float.

Re: stanford bridge

I fished by the bridge , Trotting caught 1 chub about 2lb and few dace. Went up stream and found only about 3 fishable swims. I have seen otters at Lindridge and Eastham bridge.

Re: Stick Float Fishing

Hi Hornet
thanks for the Diawa waders info will check them out. Re : the dace I was still catching them on a size 10 hook and 6 maggots. I fish around Arley a lot. Dace never seem to switch off, over the lasts few winters they seem to shoal up around Arley village from the old ferry jetty up to Cromwells hole ( fishes good here using bolo method ) . Remember your pike tackle though. This season I have caught more brown trout up to around 1 1/2lb than ever before, lost count of salmon parr. This only shows how good the water is now.

Re: Stick Float Fishing

I agree with everything you both say, alas good trotting pegs are getting less & less. Due to being over grown , with willow , and brambles. nearly every peg on the severn is for legering. In some places the banks are so bad I have to take a rope to allow me access . I am getting less enthused about wading now as I get older, balance etc. However can any body recommend a good pair of waders? because the ones I use the grip on the bottom is next to useless, and the soles are so thin I can feel every stone on the bottom.
As for floats this year I bought some hand made Avons off ebay, and crystal drennan avons both brilliant.
