Re: Twisted Hooklength on RiversHi ,what line are you using ? because some modern lines just don't like being used on running water. I get no problem with Drennan float.

Re: stanford bridgeI fished by the bridge , Trotting caught 1 chub about 2lb and few dace. Went up stream and found only about 3 fishable swims. I have seen otters at Lindridge and Eastham bridge.

Re: Stick Float FishingI agree with everything you both say, alas good trotting pegs are getting less & less. Due to being over grown , with willow , and brambles. nearly every peg on the severn is for legering. In some places the banks are so bad I have to take a rope to allow me access . I am getting less enthused about wading now as I get older, balance etc. However can any body recommend a good pair of waders? because the ones I use the grip on the bottom is next to useless, and the soles are so thin I can feel every stone on the bottom.
