Re: Swim hogging

question...do the people who rent these cottages have the right to fish the baa stretch if they have no membership as there are no day or week tickets anymore???
myself along with my son visited this stretch a couple of weeks ago quietly moving into swims only for three chaps to come from one of these cabins wade into the river with as much noise as they could then when asked by my son to try being quiet he was told whats the matter aint you catching.
we left by 10.30 am for a 30 mile trip home. if they were baa members then unfortunately they had every right to fish there but if not then they were poaching in my eyes.

Re: STANLEY (SHIP INN)

hi david last season i tried to book to park at the ship inn and was told they only allow patrons to park and to drive further down to pay for fishing on private stretch. i contacted the baa and explained id driven over 30 miles to fish its stretch and found i could not park at the ship inn. they thanked me telling me they would alter the website so nobody else has the same problem but i was wasting my breathe. I decided that as it was winter i would park on the lane to the ship inn where there was one bay with no sign asking you not to park. on returning i was abused by the guy who owns the private stretch telling me he owns the road which is a lie as its access to the ship inn.
i have decided its best to stay away unfortunately as he threatened to damage my car if he saw it again and not wanting to escalate things ive given up the idea of fishing there.

Re: Cleeve Prior

i met these yobs at markcliff in june they were diving into the lock and then decided to see what they could rob off me. spare spool went missing. i was threatened and decided to pack up and leave. after crossing back to the lock i was pushed by some little tyke who tried to push me in the lock carrying all my gear. had he been successful i would have been dead. i called the police but no reaction. WARNING to anyone going alone be carefull.
