Christmas Day crackers!

With no family commitments this year I took advantage of the unseasonably mild weather and went to Eardington Brook. Finished the session with fourteen barbel! Brilliant!

Re: Cotheridge

Hi Belsh,

Yes, I think thats right the footpath runs through the haven fishery but as you say its a long walk. Unfortunately the footpath at the top end of the fishery is even further away. There doesnt seem to be any other access.

Re: Cotheridge

Hi Belsh,

Thanks for replying, I dont know if things have changed from when you last went but they have put up a gate and blocked the track with earth so you cant carry on down the track anymore. Looking on ordanance survey you could use the footpath from the sharp corner before you reach the BAA track and walk along the river to access but means carrying your gear down the hill and about a mile along the bank.

Cotheridge

Does anyone know when this water is due to open again, I went there today but the lane was completely blocked by "gypsies/travellers" who informed me that it was private land, does anyone know if this is correct?

This is a shame as the Cotheridge water was an excellent venue with plenty of big chub and barbel and easy access right by the river.

Re: Nordley pools

Hi,

I fish Nordley quite a bit and not just for the carp as most seem to! As to the best pools for Bream I consider Pool 2 to hold a few average about three pounds. Pool 4 used to have some good bream - and presumably they are still there but about two or three years ago the BAA stocked it (and three - which are connected) with hundreds of small carp of about 3-4lb so now its difficult to avoid them - I suppose great for the matchmen but I really think this was the wrong way to go as this pool used to turn up big carp too.

Hope this helps,

Chris
