Re: Eckington

Yes free, but last time there a SUV reversed into my car so if you can park with space around you.
The problem with here in the summer especially is the amount of free swimmers Kayaks boarders, divers whatever that fill the place and make it impossible to fish in that area, but a long walk to the Swan Neck bend should provide some peace.
The bridge was a scene of a tragic accident last year where a young driver crashed into the river and sadly drowned, he apparently gambled on a red light on the narrow bridge.

Downstream of the bridge is Eckington A.C water which for match anglers used to be a top venue with a record weight returned a few years back...Bream of course. Plenty of water incl a weir system...all for a tenner I think, book from Eckington Post Office.

Good luck if you go...check out the old Tight Lines episode a few years back that featured Zander and Pike along this stretch and included Nafford. Well worth a watch.

Re: Stacklands help please

Roger, last time there was July and the river was weed choked on the bottom with green fine weed that was impossible to present a bait. It choked the end tackle, just a big eel for me and a couple of big chub for son. It might have cleared but doubt it given the weather of late. It was the first time I fished it for three seasons, have had good barbel etc incl a double figure barbel in the past, but would wait for a flush through...happy to join you in a session with you if you want in the Autumn.

Re: Waters booked for matches.

The real inconvience is with the daft angler that has just settled in to a peg, fed a gallon of hemp and maggots and someone rattles up and tells him to do one.
Perhaps we should resort to pre computers and put a ruddy big sign up, in multi languages obviously.

Re: Waters booked for matches.

If I need to fish a stretch that is match booked, I just fish it after the weigh in....when the fish really feedmischievous

Re: What can people tell me about the fishing at 'Fladbury Below' please?

it's a very mixed species stretch, expect anything, incl the odd Barbel. I love using a light quiver approach with a maggot feeder. Boats will be a pain, so think margins.
Bird cage describes the limited/tight nature of the peg ....that's all.
Reminds me of when I lived in the Cotswoldl Water Park a regular visiting angler brought everything in his camper including Pedro the pet parrot.
Carry on....as you were on this forum.confused
