I've now fished 9 four hour evening sessions on usually prolific pegs, along the BAA and LAA stretch at Wasperton. And had,two missed bites and two Eels on luncheon meat, one small Chub(2lb ish) on lobworm. That's it,no further action except from pesky Crayfish.

Re: Anyone fished at Wasperton?Fished the Avon at Marlcliff a few times in the last week or two, very quite, just 2 or 3 skimmers a session bar one when 3 nice perch turned up, overall pretty dead, hardly a bite. Other anglers saying the same. That's fishing I suppose

Re: Anyone fished at Wasperton?Fished lower LAA stretch Friday evening, from 6.00pm until 10.00pm. The good news is not so much blanket weed on the bottom in the deeper water. The bad news, not a bite, not a twitch, not even a nibble from tiddlers or Crayfish. Fished luncheon meat, tried small pieces, large pieces,on the bottom, freelined, static, bounced along and every time the cubes came back perfect. Not a corner damaged. Even tried leaving a bait for forty minutes against the pads opposite to see if an Eel would take it. I love my local river fishing but I think it's time to call it a day at Wasperton and go elsewhere. Where? Absolutely no idea.

Re: Anyone fished at Wasperton?I should know better!!! I've done another eight hours on the Avon at Wasperton and not had a twitch on the rod tip. The bait came back unmolested every cast. Spoke to an angler running a stick float with a 16 hook and maggots on Monday. He had caught a few small fish(his words) in two hours but wasn't exactly bagging.

Re: Anyone fished at Wasperton?Fished on the BAA water at Wasperton yesterday(Wednesday) evening. River looked good, reasonable sized fish topping all over in the flow. Fished luncheon meat, two half inch cubes on a Stonfo Bait Holder(lazy hair rig) or two quarter inch cubes threaded on a size 8 Korda Mixa hook. 4.5g shot pinched on a powergum link.Fed small cubes little and often. Started at 5.50pm and had five good bites, that I missed,by 6.35pm. Then things changed,a load of surface rubbish, strange little light brown particles, came down in the flow for about thirty minutes and an odour, that lingered for a couple of hours, came from the water. The fish stopped topping, the bites stopped untill around 8.45pm when a few fish started rising again. Had another bite at 8.55pm,that I missed, then packed up as it was getting dark.
