Wasperton - ruts & parking

Due to the ruts in track along the river bank making vehicle access difficult and resulting in some cars getting stuck, the following work has been done;

  • Upstream from where the downstream access track meets the river bank the track has been smoothed removing the existing ruts, restoring easy vehicle access.
  • From where the downstream access track meets the river bank, vehicle access has been blocked to the track along the bank in the downstream direction. This is because the ground along this part of the bank gets very wet with resulting deep ruts and stuck vehicles. Anglers wanting to fish this downstream section will need to park their cars on the bank at the end of the access track (please don't obstruct it) and walk to their chosen downstream peg.
  • The track through the wood to the downstream end of the fishery has also been blocked to prevent it being used as an alternative vehicle access to the end of the fishery. This has been done as this track has also got very rutted due to vehicle use.

To summarise;

  • Good vehicle access is available from the upstream end of the fishery to where the downstream access track meets the river bank.
  • Vehicle access to the downstream end of the fishery from where the downstream access track meets the bank has been blocked, anglers will need to park their vehicles at the end of the access track and walk downstream.
