Upper Severn fishing report April 2021

Welcome back to all our members old and new its fantastic to see you all enjoying the fishing on the Upper Severn for trout and salmon after a long lock down, we are now back up running and re-opened on the 12th April. The weather has been very kind to us all with a nice steady flow of anglers on all areas. The river started off on the 12th at a lovely spring level with good sport being had on the fly with good catches of grayling and trout. Going into the last week of April river levels are extremley low but still plenty of grayling still being caught on the Aberbechan/Penarth and Abermule stretches some very nice brown trout to 2lb and grayling to 1½lb, well worth a visit .

With the salmon anglers fly fishing, there has been pike being caught on the fly in abundance with salmon on all stretches reported being seen .

A good start to the game season with anglers visiting the Upper Severn from all over the country from as far as Kent and Basildon .

Kind Regards Mike and Ann Wood Upper Severn area bailiffs .
