Temporary suspension of fishing at Stacklands

Due to very low waters levels in the River Wye at our Stacklands fishery, the BAA has decided to temporarily suspend fishing there until the river level improves.

As a result the issuing of permits required to fish at Stacklands will be temporarily suspended.

This has been done to help protect the fish stocks there while the river level and as a result dissolved oxygen remain unusually low.

Our other river fisheries are open as normal, the compensation water that the EA periodically releases from Lakes Clewedog and Vyrnwy should help to maintain reasonable River Severn summer levels.

Please note that when fishing during this very dry time, a good fish handling technique should be maintained, fish should be handled as little as possible and should be held in the water (in your landing net) to ensure they have recovered before release.
