Volunteers needed

The Fisheries Working Party urgently needs more volunteers to boost its numbers.

Currently there are just ten members who turn out regularly to ensure that anglers have safe and easy access to all the Association’s waters.

The BAA has over five thousand pegs to maintain as well as tracks, footpaths and car parks to keep clear. It is a monumental task to undertake and, given the present size of the working party, it is a real struggle to have the most popular venues ready for the start of the new season despite working two or three days every week.

The work of the team includes step and platform maintenance, strimming and tree pruning.

If you can spare one or two days a week or an occasional day (Monday, Wednesday and sometimes Fridays), like to keep fit, and would enjoy working with a great team, then please contact;

John Williams, BAA Secretary, on 01562 882116 (Mon.- Fri. 9.30 – 2.00).

Or send a message via Contact Us (under 'The BAA' drop down menu on the home page)

Please note that all the necessary equipment and safety wear is provided, and the BAA provides insurance for work party members.
