Hi BirminghamPaul
I fished the weir about 6 weeks ago. As others have said after parking cross the railway line through the gates and walk directly ahead for 100 or so yards before crossing into another field from where you walk downhill to a very small bridge across a ditch. Once across I walk slightly to my right towards the river so I can walk along the bank - you can go slightly more direct to the corner of the first meadow but it doesn't save you much of a walk. Climb over the metal gate (it was locked) into the next meadow and after another few hundred yards you are at the weir.
I had an enjoyable session catching roach and chub on the stick in the flow after the weir. I did try the feeder at various spots but as already mentioned, it's snaggy and I lost quite a few feeders.
At the weir, there are a number of spots to fish from and as it's unlikely anyone else will be there, you have multiple choices.
Travel light as it's a long walk and negotiating the ditch and gates would be a nightmare with a box/trolly etc.
Enjoy
