Hello mate, your best bet for carp will always be coppie. Used to fish it a lot but it gets hammered now. There's a good head of fish, but with the amount of people that fish it, they've got very smart taking baits off the bottom. Always good fun off the top on a sunny weekday though. Average stamp is about 15lb and 90% seem to be commons however I've had them to 22 and I've seen one crash that was definitely upper 20. Most of the big ones died in a mass fish kill a few years back now.

I've seen them at mythe... Well, I've seen one and she was a 20 for sure 2 summers back. There's very few there but they're big and I imagine pretty stunning! I saw the one down the bottom end in all the weed and lillies. Its fishable down there... But with the lillies taking over its a bit risky. I've never actually seen anyone fishing for them specifically.

Uckinghall I'm led to believe has some 20lb grassier but again, they're pretty wise.

I went to apperley once and the place looked dead to me. No sign of anything so can't comment.

Nordley is lovely, hardly anyone fishes it. Pool one fish are nicer and its fished less however they are harder. Pool 2 has some nice ones and is a nice winter venue. Biggest in both is about 20lb I think.

In other news, when did you last fish uckinghall mate and what was the level like?

Cheers
