Thanks again, i was informed some years ago there are some big chub to be had very close in above the weir, so with cooler weather coming in the walk should be easier, only one way to find out i suppose lol.
A light lead rod or a 14ft float rod set up and bread or meat should make it a lighter first session.
May look at trying to join smithys
