Re: Myth Farm

It’s obviously very deep down there and a lot slower. The last time I fished a match down that way I had double figures of mainly perch on the inside shelf on chopped worm and caster. There are shoals of bream there if you are lucky enough to drop on one.All depends on condition the river is though as it always seems to be crystal clear when we have been down that way.

Re: Myth Farm

Don't have any bang up to date info but there are a fair few small skimmers, plus the usual roach and perch, oh and the bream, yes the bream.

If you're lucky enough to be on them then everything is sorted match wise, apart from the fact that you have to catch them.

Water colour, as usual with these river bream makes a massive difference. A bit of colour in it and a rising or dropping river makes all the difference. it doesn't have to be dropping either, rising can be very good.

Until about three years ago, used to stay fairly regularly in a caravan at Twyning and on a Sunday morning often walked past the old BAA water at Twyning and all the way up into Tewkesbury past the Mythe farm section, if it had been raining a bit there was always an angler or two with rod bent over into a slab. If it was clear there wasn't. The difference was remarkable and quite predictable.

They're worth a try any time, but i wouldn't spend too much time waiting if fish aren't forthcoming.

It can be deep. Pole and/or feeder for smaller skimmers/perch/roach should get you some fish plus the odd eel down the shelf edges. That'd be the banker method for me this time of year, also trying feeder down the middle. Can be a few pike bite off's at times.

I've also caught roach on hemp, missing out on winning a club match after spending too long waiting for bream bream before going on the hemp line i'd been feeding, came second.

I've heard that around the marina entrances at the bottom end of Mythe can be very good.

Mainly small skimmers/roach/perch is what i'd expect Rick, sure you'll get the hang of it quickly.

Nice place.

Re: Myth Farm

Cheers Mark, guessed it would fish better with water on.

Re: Myth Farm

Can't remember exactly Rick, think Sep/Oct.

Not this time of year, but could that be because we don't try it ? I have done it once with white frost on the ground elsewhere on the Avon.

Re: Myth Farm

Tried the hemp Sunday just gone at woodnorton with no joy, trouble is i find if you feed it and they dont want it, it seems to knock the swim on its head for the day.
How deep is it in the margins for the stick
