Does anyone know anything about the newish pools along the Severn below Ripple? it wasn't that long ago that the gravel company dug them and their maturing nicely now, I had a walk round today and there is already fish movement, including a hungry looking pike of about a foot and a half...washed in from the river I suppose..does anyone know what the future plans are for these lakes? is the BAA considering them at all?

Re: new lakes at Ripple

Funny you should post this up, I did the same a couple of weekends ago, walked to the top one too, and plenty of life, well birds, and birds that eat fish, so already stocked. The lakes are owned by Cemex, and currently a neighbor of mine is negotiating with them with a few to stock with Carp and turn it into a syndicate. The cost of the carp he said would be free as they would be donated by a friend.
I did think the BAA might be interested, given the close proximity of the first lake to Uckinghall...I will notify John Williams, you never know.

Interesting..thanks for that, I suppose the worry there would be losing expensive stock fish when the river floods, especially carp. being relatively open, unlike Uckinghall.
