I agree with the previous post about the delivery of the night tickets, we travel 170 miles and leave straight from work on the Friday, so therefore I have to book our tickets on the Tuesday, just so they get to me on time. The only problem with this I find, is when you get to a venue and say the river has risen enough to make it unsafe or the pegs that are safe to night fish are taken. Lucky this has only happened the once, but it wasn't nice paying £40 each and only being able to night fish 1 of the 4 nights booked. Surely in today's age of technology, there must be a better way.... I understand why there is not a generic night ticket that covers all venues, The club need to know who is on which waters overnight, this info is available to the baliff's, so they know how many people there should be on any said evening. But that said, why can we not buy the tickets online and print them off ourselves or save them to our phones. Also would it be impossible to be able to go online and change the venue if upon arrival the venue is deemed unsafe.
Going back to the generic night permit, I would be all for this and would be willing to pay a reasonable price for this, but again, anyone night fishing would in my opinion need to let the club know where they intended to fish, just so they know which waters are being used at night.
Which takes me onto the litter issue, We fish a few of the venues overnight, and the litter is quite frankly becoming a problem. Not only is it awful to look at, but the wildlife must be suffering too. I have in the past had to cut a moorhen from the reeds which was totally tangled in disregarded line, that was not left by walkers! I know people have said about bins at venues in the car parks, but surly that's where your car is, put it in your boot and then in your own bin when you get home. I have lost count how many times I have had to clear a peg of rubbish before I start to fish. It's not mine, but I take it home anyway..... And also fires in pegs, whats that all about, I can understand a small bbq that is raised off the ground leaving no trace when finished, but when somebody has lit a fire AT THE BASE OF A TREE, it begs belief.... It is people like this that give this fantastic club a bad name, and will eventually force the club to ban night fishing all together. Thanks for bearing with me, your thought are welcome.
