Re: Salwarp

I just need to decide either river salwarp or holt fleet.
Where would you recommend to go fishing on Saturday for my first visit

Re: Salwarp

The Salwarpe isn't what it used to be,the cormorants have decimated it but it always fishes better with a bit of water on,as for Holt fleet I'd get there early if you want a peg as it's usually packed on there early in the season especially on a Saturday

Re: Salwarp

The Severn is obviously a lot bigger so can cope better with predation, going by the amount of cormorants I've seen sat in the trees where it comes into the Severn I'd say they are the main cause of the decline in weights of silvers from there.

Re: Salwarp

You're probably better fishing the Salwarpe when the Severn has got more water on.

Re: Salwarp

well from 2nd meadow at blackstone the severn becomes deeper and slow, so stourport, grimley hallow etc about the same as worcester . first meadow at blackstone shallow and then up to bewdley and onwards the same, trimpley, arley etc .
i would head up that way to start, chub and barbel going to be main fish. but dont rule others out,
