No upset caused Brinky, it was just RiverNovice getting on his high horse and ruining yet another thread with his nonsense. There are plenty of roach about, and the perch and chub seem to be everywhere on the Lower this season. I've had loads of chub whilst barbel fishing, and the perch can be observed chasing small fish in the margins. No reason why you should catch a few fish with good old maggots down therein my opinion. The bream are hit and miss though this season, but there still a fwe to be had, some of them good ones.

Re: Severn stoke

Neil you say its obsessive behavior .Let me point out its you that seems to have a obsession with some guy by the name of Jeff who upset you on barbel fishing world . For what ever reason who ever this Jeff is you have allowed him to get in your head and because I posted a video on here . With out stopping to think , You assumed it must be this Jeff guy who ever he may be .
Sorry Neil its a case of mistaken identity . I am not this guy Jeff that you seem to have obsession with .So please don't tell me I'm obsessive . Neil lets get a few facts right here ..
Neil you say I use Covid as a weapon . Neil you say I reached in to your personal life . It was you who made it public on here about your illness .So I was only quoting what you had already told every one . So you have that fact wrong again .So I was just pointing out the fact That given your health problems We all know about Covid and the effect its having on peoples mental health and given your obsession with some guy who goes by the name of Jeff and some off your previous posts and the number of people you have upset many times in the past .Perhaps its you that should have a long hard look at your self and question on how you behave going by some of your past comments aimed at other people ? You don't do it on barbel fishing world ? So why do you do it on here ? We both know Neil if you said half of the things on barbel fishing world You would soon be removed from there . So why do you do it on here ? Why do you treat people on here so differently . Perhaps it you who should go and talk to some one ?

Brinky, it follows a pattern on here, he is obsessed with me for whatever reason. As far as SS is concerned, it is fishing well with Chub at the moment, could be the lack of Barbel has brought them on , not sure. I used to catch good roach there with a feeder and 8mm pellet on the hook, they were at least hand sized, love roach, but not so much on Barbel gear. If it helps Pershore below the bridge in BAA field, is fishing well, for roach etc, small feeder bread corn etc.
Will be at SS Sunday, might see you there?
Oh! Jeff too or whatever he will go as on the day?
Good luck.

Re: Severn stoke

Such a shame when an innocent post turns into a slagging match.

I have the utmost respect for Johnny Care, if he wants to disclose what he catches where, then it's fine with me.

This is just the way carp fishing went some years back when big fish were caught from an 'undisclosed' venue and has been the same for barbel fishing for some years - especially on the Trent.

If the barbel chasers want to flock to a venue just because they've heard on the grapevine about a big capture then let them jog on. I won't be joining the circus.

Most big barbel are caught by time, effort, some skill and add in a slice of luck. I have absolutely no problem telling others where I've caught a decent barbel, I can't stand all this stupid secrecy.

My only problem with Johnny Care is that I haven't seen any new videos on YouTube for ages, or are your posting them elsewhere?

Good luck to all, just remember we're all anglers, let's just enjoy what we do!

Re: Severn stoke

Consider that every venue has different circumstances, the Severn is very different from a smaller venue where a mass of attention attributed to someone catching a good Barbel will be counter productive to both the angler and the fish. The Teme obviously suffered in this regard, it was all over the front pages, and of course if you put that much pressure on a venue like that the outcome will be very much what it is now.
To compare the Muppet show characters to having an opinion that tries to preserve rather than exploit is well, true 'Muppetness', but if you must have a pop make sure you have a reasonable command of your native tongue, otherwise your snyde remark is even less appropriate, anyone with a semblance of common sense would understand that broadcasting locations on certain Rivers stretches is just not on.
But in case you still don't understand it is only for the welfare of the fish, nothing else. These big female Barbel live a solitary life and very often don't move far from when they were last captured, but you call yourself a Barbel God, the irony!!

Re: Severn stoke

One last ast.....you talk of welfare of fish.....but yow got slagged off on BFW when you had your big fish off nafford in the heat of summer .....after telling all that its not good to fish for barbel in this heat and low water.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

As for your puppet JonnyCare.......keep the strings tight on him mucka and he'll be a good boy.

Tight lines girls.
