When we went to view the water prior to purchase back in late March, from what we could see the upstream end of the fishery looked shallow, it's also on the inside of a gentle curve with the result that the water around the bank also looked shallow. So I would recommend the upstream end furthest away from the footbridge.

There are also some old salmon fishing concrete platforms that extend well out into the river in the downstream meadow close to the fishing hut/car park, these may be good for a bit of trotting.
